I also run eve via clones, but I have tested it running off the main install.
However, I do not have any of these issues. For me eve has been playing very very well for the last several weeks. Even when testing off the main install.

You are just lucky
But on the "Flicker crash issue thread" on the other forum thread of the constant freeze up flickers, I'm running normal screen resolution at windowed mode. |

CCP Paradox wrote:Those of you with a second screen attached, just for an attempt could you please disconnect the display and try just on the one screen? Also, do you have anything else running while playing EVE? Internet browser, viewing videos, or something else? If you do, try closing all applications down and just try EVE.
I am reproducing some things right now, and anymore information would be handy to have.
For the Frequently freezing up part. https://forums.eveonline.com/default.aspx?g=posts&t=318689 (Flicker crashes)
I have Firefox running every time I crashed but I doubt it has to do with it. If so, I'm running no other applications, only EVE.
However, I obtain this crash when many ships are in space at one time, for example being on the Amarr undock crashes the client always within a minute. Try it by moving around the camera at the populated Amarr undock and see if it produces the flicker crash. |

If you're experiencing the issues you've detailed, I'm sure you would try anything to get it back to normal. We're still investigating all the avenues we can find for this issue, so that's why we're looking at the general environment you're playing EVE in.
I'll give it a go without Firefox. |

I was unable to cause a crash without firefox currently for now, I'll keep trying without Firefox.
Had firefox turned off and no flicker crash for a minuite, But turned firefox on after the minuite, flicker lockup within 30 seconds.
Most likely the hardware acceleration from Firefox caused the crash it seems. |

Firefox didn't cause the issue, I recieved a flicker crash within 30 seconds of entering EVE without firefox.
The crash is generated with any settings set, I've tried effects off and so on etc. My screen is windowed.
Console doesn't generate anything at all during the flicker crash. |

Can we get some good news instead of constant bad news such as "free PLEX for everyone" or something?
I appreciate your effort on this Snorlax and Paradox
Bad though it's difficult to get a reproduce of this since it's not a real crash... only if there was a way to get a dump log from the flicker freeze...
It came from Singularity is the thing this problem... AFAIK before the AMD card issue. Though I think the worst suggestion would be to reverse everything on Tranquility before the 1.1 patch, that would fix all our problems... |

I managed to get my flicker freeze to give me console messages, and found the same issue elsewhere on the internet by none EVE users.
Same issue, different situations. I've posted links to this issue OUTSIDE of EVE with the exact same errors as I encountered.
This isn't an EVE exclusive freeze up... |

NoDak Hilitari wrote:Valery Sorciere wrote:I have been locked out for days, black character screen, then flicker, but today I got in with these steps:
1. Open launcher, log in, everything looks normal at first. 2. All black character screen appears, then flicker starts. 3. Immediately start clicking blindly in left part of window to choose character. Hear character select noise. 4. Cmd-tab to other application. Cmd-tab back to EVE.
I don't know if all the steps are necessary, I am just reporting what I did that got me past the login freeze. SOmeone posted this to a new thread. Does Command+Tab work for anyone else on this? I don't have my mac with me
Question I'd want to know is if they still experience the flicker crash when flying in space, I don't have the black screen problem but I have the constant flicker when in EVE in space. |

CCP Maxwell wrote:We have just put a patch out on Singularity with a bug-fix, which we hope fixes the black-screen issue. We would really like to hear if you can log on and play on Singularity. How to connect to SingularityAs we have been unable to reproduce the issue, we again depend upon you good folks to tell us if the problem is solved. Here-¦s hoping it is............
Yay, SiSi won't lockup or flicker on me
Everyone else say if it works or not. Because my issue has now vanished.
Patch this out asap! |

Sandar Orontur wrote:I appreciate CCP's efforts to get this solved and I understand it takes some time, in particular without being able to reproduce the bug inhouse.
At the same time, there's players who haven't been able to log in for more than a week now. I know this is and always has been a controversial issue, but I think that least a SP reimbursement for the lost time would be a useful compensation. I'm not even talking about lost game time, potential ingame profits, etc. which are even more controversial. But at least compensating the lost training time to some extent would be nice gesture. Of course after resolving the issue itself which has higher priority for most of us, I guess.
Yeah I'd like to hear on what CCP will do for us players other than just game time. To me it's lost profit, lost time etc. I'd want to hear on ship reimbursements too since servers cannot pick this issue up. |

ToxicBurn wrote:And again another patch FAIL.
I try logging in through Launcher and my screen flickers black as if the monitor is broken.
Will this kill my monitor? Probably
Will CCP patch tomorrow fix it? Who knows
Does CCP Devs need to reply to more than 2 or 3 posts? Definitely
Will I get compensated on the week not being able to play? Probably not
Money wasted yet again...Thanks CCP
Did you even read any of the previous replies on this thread? CCP has stated that it WILL be patched on Tuesday. Anyhow petition the issue you should be able to get your game time back.
This won't kill your monitor anyway, it's a graphics card problem not a monitor/screen issue. |
